NEC 2017 puts growing global adoption of African entertainment top on the agenda

Organizers of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference 2017 (#NECLive5), Africa’s biggest entertainment conference – an initiative of TheNETng have announced theme for this year’s conference.

Themed, “It’s Time for Africa,” #NECLive5 will provide industry stakeholders the formidable platform to discuss key issues bordering on the growing global adoption of African entertainment and how to effectively position industry practitioners and emerging African economies to take full advantage of it.

The African media and entertainment industry continues to attract growing interests and patronage across the world. From Asia to Europe to America, there’s a rising global consumption of African entertainment and what better time to discuss the prospects, challenges and strategic positioning of the continent’s entertainment industry than now?

In a statement released by NEC secretariat, convener and founder of Nigerian Entertainment Conference, Ayeni Adekunle Samuel highlighted;

“The world’s attention has understandably shifted to Africa with funders, labels, producers and awards looking to play with the region. Nigeria is at the fore of this new wave, just as places like Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania and Ghana are equally well positioned”.

Confirmed speakers, panelists, facilitators and moderators at this year’s conference include notable media and entertainment personalities like Nigerian Pop singer Tiwa Savage, Ace Comedian Ali Baba, K1 The Ultimate, 2010 Project Fame winner Chidinma Ekile, broadcaster and vlogger Toke Makinwa, Award winning actress Kemi Lala Akindoju, Executive Vice President, Viacom Africa, Alex Okosi, award-winning actress Adesua Etomi, content producer Chichi Nwoko, and City FM CEO, Doja Allen.

Others are Bright Okpocha AKA BasketMouth, Ace Producer ID Cabasa,  Adebantu, Fuji Maestro Adewale Ayuba, Daddy Showkey, Teju Babyface, Frank Edoho, Opa Williams, Frank Donga, Cobhams Asuquo, Dolapo Oni, Comedian Arole, Akin Shuga, Shola Thompson, Fela Oke, Basorge, Adebantu among others.

Nigerian Entertainment Conference 2017 (#NECLive5) will hold on Wednesday 26th April 2017 at Landmark Events Centre, Water Corporation Road, Oniru, Lagos by 9am.

NECLive5 will be hosted by ace comedian Tee A for the fifth consecutive year.
