One phone call can change everything, as Dahiru Abubakar Sadiq, a student in Usman Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Nigeria discovered on 18th February, 2016, when he received news of his One Million Naira win in the ongoing Skye Bank “Reach for the Skye” Millionaire reward scheme which held at the Shehu Shagari Main Gate of Sokoto Central Market.
“Please, if this is a joke, I beg you, stop. I have things to attend to and i am in class at the moment, please” Abubakar replied in disbelief as he answered the call. “Wait o. Are you serious? I have won one million naira? Oh, thank you, God! Thank God for Skye bank o!” he shouted in excitement as he immediately left his lecture hall to come to the draw venue.
Commenting on the Sokoto promo draw and the success of the “Reach for the Skye” Millionaire Promo, Head, Retail Banking at Skye Bank Plc., Nkolika Okoli, said the objectives of the promo were to encourage a savings culture in the country while improving the lives and businesses of customers, in line with the mission and values of the bank.
“We have received feedback from winners from other geo-political zones who ploughed back their winnings into their businesses. Other customers have also confirmed that the prize money came in very handy as payment for outstanding loans or a fund for emergencies” Okoli disclosed.
